When I last posted, I left you all with the revelation that I wanted to tell people about their food. That’s what that cacao ceremony back in October left me realizing.
How would I go about this, though?
A first step is to expand my current business (which is communications for the horticulture industry) to also include small farmers and food crafters. Small farms and people who work with food have stories to tell—stories about themselves, about what they do and about what they produce. I can help with those stories.
Over the next month I’ll go through a bit of a rebranding process then official put up my shingle to accept both flower and food clients in 2023. If you know of anyone who could use a little help getting their word out about their small farm-to-table type biz, pass my name along, if you could. I’d love to help them tell their stories.
Meanwhile, to continue the progress I made with The October Project—mainly in regard to prioritizing my own direction at least once each day—I’ve taken to mindfully acknowledging what I am grateful for each morning. And I’ve found that when I do that first thing each morning, I am mindfully more grateful for lots of other things throughout the day. What a wonderful and unexpected bonus!
p.s. What do I mean by “food crafter”? Someone who works directly with the agricultural products. A baker, for instance, or someone making cheese. Oh, or folks who raise bees and sell honey—yum! Maple syrup! Ice cream made with milk from the cows down the street. That place at the pier that sells oysters and lobster rolls. Why leave sea farmers out, right?
Or this coffee roaster I toured while in Guatemala. The beans literally came from a quarter mile away!
You get the idea.
Thanks for all your support. Stay tuned for what’s to come!
