What did I do today to refresh and prepare myself for my October Project?
I slept an extra 30 minutes.
I let the dog sniff a little longer than usual on our long walk.
I went on a lunch date.
I watched the evening news.
Between each of those I worked on not just my goals for the month, but also on some errands that just needed to get done.
That’s it. Taking breaks is all it took to feel as though I’ve regained some control of my path. Head down and powering forward for hours has its times, but when your body and your mind and your day all say, “hey, sit down for a moment” or “Let the pup sniff, it’s a learning opportunity for her,” do it. Honor what your mind and body and your day say you should do. They know best.
