Day 14, and what did I do to nourish myself, to rebound from a few days where I did nil toward my October Project?
I wrote two chapters.
I made breakfast from random fridge and pantry items, and was thrilled with it enough to write a blog post about it for my other newsletter, The Dainty Dot. Read it HERE.
Looks like an ordinary breakfast, but it’s more than that.
I also worked yet another supposed-to-be-3-turned-into-6 hour day at the winery. It’s a beautiful spot, and the food truck has a spectacular view.
About 20 minutes from when this photo was taken, about 100 people showed up for a special event. And it seemed like they all ordered pizza. I know there are some horticulturists reading this who get swamped with spring sales season, but you don’t know the meaning of “in the weeds” until you are preparing food for hungry people. And they all want their multiple pizza in 10 minutes. And they hover, believing their presence will make their food appear sooner.
It’s crazy busy when this happens, but it’s a crazy busy shared experience that really does feel invigorating. Mostly.
What’s Up for Day 15?
I’m back at the winery today for an actual scheduled 6 hour shift. This time I’m staffing the outside bar. It’s a different sort of crazy busy, but by the nature of the product, the customer’s satisfaction is more immediate.
Before I get there, though, I plan on a long dog walk and maybe one more chapter.
What’s on your agenda to help you see progress on your October Project?
